Exploring and optimizing neuroplasticity by non-invasive brain stimulation in the elderly

  • The cornerstone of learning and memory is neuroplasticity which declines in the elderly. Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) modulates neuroplasticity. In this thesis age-dependent plasticity differences between age groups has examined, and the dose-dependency of tDCS-induced motor cortex plasticity has evaluated.
  • Der Grundstein für Lernen und Gedächtnis ist die Neuroplastizität, die bei älteren Menschen abnimmt. Transkranielle Gleichstromstimulation (tDCS) moduliert die Neuroplastizität. In dieser Arbeit wurden altersabhängige Plastizitätsunterschiede zwischen Altersgruppen untersucht.
