• The circular economy is considered to be of great importance in the fight against climate change and is seen as an opportunity for a sustainable transformation of the economy. This potential is reflected in a large number of scientific contributions and thus in the development of an active research strand, but also in international policies - such as the EU Circular Economy Action Plan. This cumulative dissertation considers the concept of the circular economy and the related research areas of circular supply chain management and circular business model from an economic perspective and is dedicated to the conceptual analysis of this young, steadily growing research field. Within the framework of six individual publications, the dissertation contributes to the understanding as well as to the further development of the circular economy and to the above mentioned research fields.
• Der Kreislaufwirtschaft wird im Kampf gegen den Klimawandel eine große Bedeutung beigemessen und sie wird als Chance für eine nachhaltige Umgestaltung der Wirtschaft gesehen. Dieses Potenzial spiegelt sich in einer Vielzahl von wissenschaftlichen Beiträgen und damit in der Entwicklung eines aktiven Forschungsstrangs, aber auch in der internationalen Politik - wie dem \(\textit {Circular Economy Action Plan}\) der EU - wider. Die vorliegende kumulative Dissertation betrachtet das Konzept der \(\textit {Circular Economy}\) und die damit verbundenen Forschungsbereiche \(\textit {Circular Supply Chain Management}\) und \(\textit {Circular Business Model}\) aus einer ökonomischen Perspektive und widmet sich der konzeptionellen Analyse dieses jungen, stetig wachsenden Forschungsfeldes. Die Promotionsschrift leistet im Rahmen von sechs Einzelveröffentlichungen einen Beitrag zum Verständnis sowie zur Weiterentwicklung der Kreislaufwirtschaft und zu den oben genannten Forschungsfeldern.
