Analysis of the \(\eta \rightarrow 3 \pi^{o}\) decay in the pp interaction

  • The \(\eta \rightarrow 3 \pi\) decays are isospin violating and occur due to the light quark mass differences. Consequently, \(\eta \rightarrow 3 \pi^{o}\) decays allow to probe experimentally quark masses, free fundamental parameters within the theory of strong interaction. The theoretical and experimental efforts on the investigation of the eta-meson decays show the importance of the accurate treatment of pi-pi final state interactions. To enhance theoretical developments and to deepen out understanding of the isospin violating meson decays, solid experimental results are necessary. This motivates to provide further experimental data from independent measurements. This work is dedicated to the measurements of the \(\eta \rightarrow 3 \pi^{o}\) decay in hadronic interactions using the 4pi acceptance WASA detection system recently installed at the Cooler Synchrotron COSY of the Research Center Jülich.
